This week’s blog is a simple dish that seems fancy. Mix, patty, cook!
Crab Cakes http://lowcarboneday.com/2012/12/paleo-pen-pals-and-crab-cakes-low-carb.html
- 6 oz canned crab, drain (fresh better if it’s affordable)
- 2 Tbsp diced green chilis (use the rest of the can on my tilapia recipe)
- 1 clove minced garlic
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp seasoning of choice
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp almond flour
Combine the first 6 ingredients. Add egg and stir to combine. Add flour to desired consistency. Make patties. Heat 1-2 Tbsp oil in skillet over med heat. Sear 2-3 min/side. Makes 2 protein/fat servings (negligible fat if 1 Tbsp almond flour and just nonstick spray in the pan). L4 – use 8 oz crab and make 3 protein servings.
“Diets” are boring, tendious, and generally don’t taste good. You’ve made a “lifestyle change” which can include lots of delicious recipes using natural and Meltdown-Friendly ingredients! Feast with seafood, feast with patties, and as always…FEAST ON!!!
