Client Testimonials

Before starting at NGPT I was so out of shape and physically unable to function on a daily basis. My joints hurt and I was taking so many meds to get me through the days. When I had to buy a rolling chair to use when preparing meals for my family because it hurt to stand, I knew it was time to do something to gain control of my life and health! Since joining at NGPT I have regained my life! I can do things I never thought I would ever be able to do again! My last blood work showed everything in the normal range, meds decreased! The body weight change is great but being able to do things for myself and not ask someone to do for me is the best. I am a very impatient person, when I need something done I want it now, it was hard for me to wait for someone to do the daily things. When it was time to decorate for Christmas this year, everything is stored in our basement, I carried over twenty crates of decorations up and down the stairs on my own. I did have help with the two really heavy ones but that is because I didn’t want to risk an injury that would have kept me from working out at the gym! Not only have I changed my clothes sizes, I had my wedding rings sized down a full size this week, back to the size they were 32 years ago! I keep coming back every week because I love the people at NGPT! The trainers are the best and so caring. I have really great respect for them and know they are there for each of us to get better. Also, I have developed friendships with so many other members that have been a true blessing, I love them all! NGPT is by far the most positive experience I have had in my life in many years and I can’t express how truly grateful I am that I have this group supporting me! I am so excited that I am sharing this experience with my daughter, Tara Dodds! Can’t wait for her to experience all of the positive things I have. If anyone out there thinks they can’t make a change in their health and physical condition, look at my transformation, IT CAN BE DONE!

I joined NGPT because I wanted a lifestyle change. I wanted to lose weight but wanted more than just a fad diet. I wanted to learn how to eat right and exercise right. In addition, I wanted to replace bad habits and ways of dealing with stress with more positive, productive habits. From a weight perspective, I have lost over thirty pounds. I also dropped 6-8 clothing sizes and 5-6 inches off my waist. I am in my late thirties and my muscle tone wasn’t even this good in my twenties:). More than just the physical, there is a mental gain that occurs too when you trust in the process. I gained a different type of confidence that did not exist before. When you push yourself physically, gain control and demonstrate discipline with eating and working out it positively impacts all areas of your life. I have increased both my physical and mental endurance. The best part is definitely the people. You get so much encourage and support. You get the positive encouragement but you also have people who really care enough to tell you the truth and push you even harder to get better (but never before they know you are ready). You are surrounded with people who want you to succeed. You also get to be a part of everyone else’s journey. We all start at different places with different circumstances. To witness the progress people make, to hear the cheers in class when someone moves up the weight loss board, and to have the opportunity to celebrate in others’ success is very inspiring. Those are just a couple of reasons that I keep coming back.

What really motivated me to join NGPT were the before and after pictures. I saw people I knew who lost significant amounts of weight and I thought “I can do that!”. After I lost 30lbs and gained friendships and long lasting relationships at NGPT I knew I was home. I started because I wanted to be healthy but I stay because I know the trainers who work there really want me to stay healthy.
When I started my Diabetes out of control and I was stressed off the charts. My doctor told me to join because there wasn’t a magic pill for me to take!! (i inquired!!). So far I’ve lost close to 40 pounds, I feel great, and my last blood work showed my A1C level (3 month blood sugar average) had dropped to the controlled level. Awesome! The classes motivate me. I feel like a part of a family. I love the instructors and the other gym goers. I never was one to exercise, and now I find I miss it if I miss a few days!! Plus it works!! I stay on track with my food and exercise. The weigh ins every 2 weeks help me keep myself honest!! I also LOVE my weekly PT sessions. And I love the way I’m looking!!! I also have found I try to incorporate a walk with friends…instead of always going out to eat!! Knowing I can cheat once in a while surprisingly keeps me in check!!
I was originally motivated by supporting my wife who wanted to do a Bootcamp. I lost nearly 60 pounds but gained so much more. I gained a great group of new friends and an awesome sense of community. I keep coming back because I love the way the program has worked for me. I also love seeing others succeed and am inspired by their successes everyday.

I wanted my life back. I was 26 years old and over 300 lbs. Being that big effects everything you do. Going to see a popular movie would stress me out because I would have to make sure I got there early enough to get an end seat, otherwise I would be forced to squeeze into a middle seat making not only myself, but the people around me uncomfortable. Want to go to Kings Island to ride all of the new rides with your friends? Too bad, you’re not fitting on anything when you’re that big. Shopping is a drag, you’re basically left to online. I just wanted to be normal. I lost 120 pounds my first year (2013) and have maintained the weight loss. In my first year at NGPT, I ran a half marathon, rode a roller coaster again, went zip lining, rode comfortably on an airplane…the list is endless. I got my life back. You’ll hear it over and over again but it’s the people. This is my family. I’ve made so many wonderful, lifelong friends and have had so many opportunities because of the people that come here. You will find no other place like it. NGPT can’t be duplicated. No one looked at me funny when I walked into my first class at over 300lbs. Instead they cheered me on, and they still do to this day.

I was motivated to join by the fact that I am raising two daughters who need a healthy and strong mom to be a good role model for them. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to look great, too! 😉 The numbers on the scale have gone down and have stayed down (and far from that first weigh-in!) Off the scale, I’ve gained strength and confidence to do things I never would have had the guts to try before. (Like deadlifting or back-squatting 100% of my body weight!) Over the years, I’ve gotten the reputation for being fitness and health conscious - it’s a great reputation to have! I keep coming back because the people are AMAZING! Exercise can be done in many places, but the team and the clients at NGPT cannot be beat! They’re truly my second family!
My biggest motivation was seeing the results of other people in this program, but once I started, it was seeing my own results. I lost 11 pounds in that first 2 weeks and that really pushed me to keep going. Weight loss is not easy, but I just stayed focused at losing that next pound. Now, I don’t just do it just for me but to help motivate those around me. I’m seeing that my hard work is pushing others to do their best, and that is the greatest reward! My results are changing every weigh in. So far I have lost 39 lbs, 11% body fat and over 8 inches off my stomach in 14 weeks. My life has changed completely! One of the big things that stands out about this program is how environmentally friendly this makes a person. Eating fresh food daily has reduced the amount of trash I throw away as well as cut my recycling. When you eat fast food, just a value meal will produce a cup with a lid and straw, cardboard from the fries, a wrapper from the sandwich and a paper bag. When you eat fresh food daily, you eliminate all that waste. This program improves your carbon footprint and also saves you money in groceries! The biggest expense is buying new clothes because your old ones continue to get way too big! I keep coming back because I want to continue to see results. I got to a point in my life where I was at a fork in the road. One path would take me in an unhealthy direction which would bring obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. The other path was to change my life for the better. By building a healthier foundation, I have improved all aspects of my life. I also love to work out with other people which I didn’t do before. Classes are motivating. I wouldn’t work out this hard at home by myself. I need these classes to push me and to educate me on what it takes to live a fit, healthy lifestyle.
NGPT has truly given me a new lease on life. Before my first bootcamp, I had been varying shades of overweight and out of shape for almost my entire life. My then three-year-old daughter was my motivation for doing my first bootcamp. As a single parent, I’m responsible for a lot of things, and one of those really important things was being able to play with her. I found myself not wanting to go to the park because I got winded so easily, or skip the swimming pool because I felt self-conscious in a bathing suit. I was aware how unfair this was to her, and I knew it had to change.
I fully expected to lose some weight with NGPT’s help. What I didn’t expect was to lose 90 pounds, over a foot around my waist, and gain an incredible amount of not only muscle, but confidence throughout all areas of my life. Strength of heart and mind is something I’ve always admired in others and striven for myself. But as I started working toward a more concrete physical strength through continuing to stay on the NGPT nutrition plan after the conclusion of that first bootcamp, attending group classes and regular weigh-ins, and pairing up with a good friend for personal training, I found I felt stronger mentally, too. Turns out they all go hand-in-hand. :) This is all thanks to the one-of-a-kind community and support the NGPT staff and their clients offer to every single person who walks through its doors. Believe me, I had no idea what I was in for at the beginning of that first bootcamp, but it’s been nothing short of surprising, educational, loads of fun, and I’ve made so many wonderful new friends! A year and a half at NGPT, and 28 years into my life, I can honestly say my body finally works. And not only does it work, it’s pretty darn amazing what I’m capable of.
My motivation for joining NGPT was simple : I wanted to live to be able to take care of my daughter. There were other more practical and selfish reasons, but getting healthy so I could see my daughter graduate high school, college, and become an adult. I was morbidly obese, had high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and no energy. I was full of shame and guilt for letting myself get so far out of shape. I checked out NGPT on the advice of a friend, and I immediately felt at ease and welcomed and supported. I decided that morning that I was going to change myself. Besides losing 70 lbs and foot or so off my waist, I no longer need blood pressure meds, or blood sugar meds, or any other the other medications I was on. I buy clothes “off the rack”. People tell me I look fit and strong, and my daughter is proud of me. I keep coming back because the program works, and the staff continues to challenge me to keep at it. My routine has changed, and I now do things I never thought I could do. The staff are the best people, and the whole gym culture is one of community. It sounds trite and superficial, but the culture of NGPT flows from the top down, and EVERYONE supports everyone else. It’s a family.
I had long needed to get back in to some sort of fitness regime. I was not having any luck trying to do things on my own. A friend at work had done an NGPT boot camp and started talking to me about it one day. She had experienced GREAT success with the program and was going to sign up for another Boot Camp to keep her momentum going. It sounded intriguing. After a discussion with my family about the time and dietary changes that I would need to stick to, with their support, I signed up! I was able to lose almost 7 inches off of my waist, drop almost 20 pounds and I had found my ‘home team’. I had always played team sports during high school and rec sports after that. I had not realized how much I had missed being a part of a team. I spent more time watching my kids and their sports while eating popcorn and drinking diet cokes than I did doing anything athletic on my own. NGPT changed that! I was a part of a team with the same goal and the same desire to get healthy and support each other along the way. It didn’t hurt that I made new friends and have now done things that I never would have dreamed that I would have accomplished at my age. A lot of burpees, multiple NGPT Infernos, 5Ks, a half marathon, a Spartan sprint along with lifting heavy stuff at the studio during PT sessions. Why did I wait so long? I wish I had started this program earlier than I did! I try to be in the studio two or three times a week if not more! My stress levels disappear with the first Tabata set or HIC set. I keep coming back because of the friends and family that I have gained along the journey! They are some of the best people you could ever meet! The instructors, the coaches and the other NGPT clients are quite simply AWESOME! They are always encouraging and always supportive! They inspire me, they challenge me and they make me a better person along the way!
I was introduced to NGPT by my friend (Terri B). Seeing her lose weight, become stronger, and eat real food is what first motivated me to learn more about the program. Looking at the before and after pictures of members is what really motivated me to join. My best results have been in what I have gained, not lost. I regained my confidence, my health, my energy, and my love for life! The best part about NGPT is, without a doubt, the people. This diverse population provides support, guidance, and humor. I have never felt like I was being judged or ridiculed, or like I didn’t fit in. I have made friends, grown to enjoy exercising, and seen results I never would have imagined possible!
Approximately three years ago I set a goal to increase my exercise level. Several friends and colleagues spoke highly of NGPT and the client/instructor relationship and their success with the program. As a result of those endorsements, I gave it a try with a focus on the exercise program. Very quickly I expanded my efforts to include the nutrition and weight-loss.. Since then I have participated in four meltdowns—the last one was approximately a year ago. I will readily admit it took me awhile (approximately three meltdowns) before I truly committed to the program. I, also, periodically engage in submittal of daily good logs and related nutritional counseling. I am currently participating in the holiday blitz program to help me through the holiday season. I have engaged in personal training classes for about two years. I have lost 62 pounds and almost 13 inches around my waist—in terms of clothing size this means from a size 20 pants to a size 10 (sometimes an 8). I have battled my weight for approximately 55 years and my current weight is probably that of junior high school in the mid-1960’s. Approximately a year ago, I reached a goal weight and since then I have maintained it. I have NEVER been in the physical condition that I am now. I am within approximately 10 pounds from dead-lifting my body weight. I religiously engage in the bi-weekly weigh-in at the gym and this has been a huge help for me. Other non-scale results: incredible physical transformation, improved balance, heightened muscle tone, and confidence and pride in my body. The NGPT community is diverse in many ways and that pleases me—I am one of the older members but that is not a problem for me at all. I always feel that I receive special attention even in the larger classes and the coaches/instructors reach a good balance between helping me push my limits and at the same time, help me establish some. Adam and the entire NGPT staff welcome and support people in improving their overall fitness. For me, NGPT staff and participants remind me that I can’t hide from my body and that I can forgive myself for slippage and then return to the program. I am continually encouraged as I see the results of the individuals who engage the program and I am gaining some confidence in myself that I have modified my life-style forever. Social eating is a big deal in our culture and I am learning (and re-learning) that I choose what I eat and saying no is okay. Several months ago I was talking to Adam about this and he opined that I would eventually get to the point where I enjoyed the social gathering in and of itself without participating in the food fest and I find that is oftentimes true. The social network/community of NGPT participants supports and encourages me in so many ways.
